During the third quarter of 2024, the top social networking applications in Hungary displayed varied performance trends across downloads, revenue, and weekly active users. The data, sourced from Sensor Tower, provides a comprehensive look at these metrics for Threads, WhatsApp Messenger, Facebook, Messenger, and Rakuten Viber Messenger.

Threads from Instagram, Inc. saw its downloads fluctuate, peaking at around 25K in late September. The app's weekly active users grew steadily, reaching nearly 381K in mid-September, before slightly declining to approximately 349K by the end of the quarter.

WhatsApp Messenger maintained a consistent download rate throughout the quarter, with figures hovering around 14K to 16K weekly. Its weekly active users, however, experienced a gradual decline from about 1.76M at the start of July to 1.67M by the end of September.

Facebook generated a stable revenue stream, peaking at around $5K in early September. Downloads remained consistent, averaging around 14K weekly, while weekly active users slightly decreased from 6.71M to 6.67M over the quarter.

Messenger showed a modest revenue increase, with peaks reaching $94 in late August. Downloads saw a peak of about 20K in mid-August, and weekly active users grew from 2.58M in early July to 2.63M by the end of September.
